Summary:

Remuda is looking for a full-time EWP Designer to join our team. Reporting directly to the Design & Estimating Manager, the EWP Designer is a highly valued member of the team. The EWP Designer is an essential role in the life cycle of projects undertaken by Remuda, as it establishes the resources, methods, and general framework to be employed by the project team. The successful candidate will have enthusiasm for challenging and unique projects, a passion for visionary design, and broad knowledge of materials, processes, and construction methods.

What You’ll Do

As a EWP Designer you will:

  • Create designs from concept through to design development
  • Prepare shop drawings, layouts and construction specifications based on client documents
  • Prepare revisions to existing designs as required
  • Resolve complex technical design issues
  • Work independently and as part of the team liaising with client, contractors, engineers, and sales staff
  • Prioritize and manage tasks to support scheduled deadlines for quotes and projects
  • Undertake other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned

Applicants that meet the following qualifications are encouraged to apply

  • Proficient knowledge of EWP Software, such as Mitek Sapphire, Weyerhaeuser Javelin, Simpson Strong Tie CS EWP, etc.
  • Diploma/Certificate in CAD, Architectural or Engineering Design Technology, Construction Technology, or related program of study is an asset
  • 2 years of relevant design experience in the wood construction industry
  • Able to use Microsoft Office
  • Able to work 8 hours a day M-F
  • Have Reliable Vehicle
