Founded in 2014 by Steve Schouten, the company was established to meet the diverse needs of customers seeking comprehensive services for post frame construction. Today, Remuda is known across the prairies for the quality of its post frame buildings, unique finishings, distinct designs, and extraordinary customer service. Our staff prides themselves on rising to challenges and delivering on promises.

In July 2020, Remuda acquired Strathmore Building Supplies, a supplier of lumber, engineered products, trusses, wall panels for wood-frame residential, light commercial, and commercial construction industries. Now rebranded as Remuda Lumber & Supplies and located in the same location in Rocky View County, we are dedicated to making it easier for contractors in Southern Alberta to source and receive the building materials they need.

Responsibilities

  • New Business Development: Identify and develop new business clients and opportunities in Calgary and surrounding area.
  • Strategic Customer Targeting: Develop strategies to target and win key accounts.
  • Lead Generation: Generate leads through your ongoing contacts and through the tools distributed by the Marketing Team.
  • Lead Management: Follow up on, evaluate leads to convert into potential clients, answer calls for leads, respond to emails that come in through website, and enter customer information into CRM.
  • Account Management: Maintain and grow relationships with existing clients.
  • Estimating: Email vendors for pricing, prepare quote using POS, quote presentation to customer in person or via email, email and follow ups with leads, complete and compile estimates, and assess design revisions and adjust quotes as necessary.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Build and grow relationships by working with clients from design, estimation, and delivery. Ensure they are happy every step of the way, and work with clients to determine complete project specifications.
  • Quality Assurance: Communicate with operations team regularly to ensure quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Accounts Receivable: Follow up with Finance team to ensure accounts have been paid, follow up with customers to ensure all delinquent accounts are cleared up.

Key Requirements

  • Industry Experience: At least 5 years of sales experience in the construction, framing, or building products industries. We are the experts that our clients rely on!
  • Education: Post-secondary education is ideal, but we will give careful consideration to candidates with a successful sales background and experience.
  • Sales Experience: Experience selling to builders, construction companies, and end-users is an asset.
  • CRM Systems: Experience using CRM systems to manage customer relationships and sales processes.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong, driven, positive, and upbeat interpersonal skills.
  • Work Ethic: Efficient, reliable with attention to detail, and a strong work ethic.
  • Customer Service: Professional and exceptional customer service skills.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Technical Skills: Strong computer skills, plan reading.

Additional Requirements and Nice to Have

  • Local Market Knowledge: Familiarity with the Calgary area and the local construction market is a plus.
  • Proactive and Self-Motivated: Ability to work independently and take initiative in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to address customer needs and resolve issues promptly and effectively.
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with other team members to achieve common goals.
